This one I picked up randomly. I was told by a friend that some under-hyped books are much much better than the over-hyped ones which turned out to be true.
This is the kind of book that leaves you wanting for more. Sadly, even though this book is part of a series, it is a standalone. So the story of Alexandria and Elijah pretty much ends with this book.
The plot is a pretty simple one, it follows the typical new adult romance path, but the progression was smooth and it held my interest. The sex was limited to a few pages, and M. Clarke has done a lovely job with keeping the bedroom scene for the right moment, though I hoped there was more of it. The build up was huge, making you want to just jump into the book and rip Elijah's clothes off.
I loved Elijah's character, the bad boy good heart thing made him seem quite desirable. The book is written from the point of view of both Elijah and Alexandria, so you get to peek into the minds of both characters. Alex seemed a little annoying and too guarded - the I'm so pretty and I don't even know kind. Immature is the right word for her. She seemed a little unreal as compared to Elijah. I loved all the supporting characters, they come in at the right time, saying the right things. It was neat.
Though the plot wasn't out of the world or anything, I think M. Clarke did a wonderful job with the way she has written it. It's the kind of book that'll get your mind off your work and life and give you a little entertainment. Some parts will make you cry.
I recommend reading this one if you're in for some roommate romance :)
